The City & Guilds 2365 (Level 2 and Level 3) has become the preferred method for new entrants to becoming a fully qualified electrician. Colleges and training providers enrol adults (aged 16 or above) for 2365 courses even if students have no previous experience or knowledge. Once you have passed the 2365, you will be then be able to progress and complete the NVQ and AM2 at a later stage once you have found employment. At training providers the course will typically require sixteen weeks of full time study either continuous over three months or periodically with two weeks on, two weeks off over six months; FE colleges will cover the material in two years.
