The 2391-50 Initial Verification qualification will be examined by:
- One 40 item 80 minute open book multiple-choice test
- Two practical assignment tasks to include:-
- 2 hour inspection and test on main test rig
- Short four item written questions
Multiple choice test
All qualified electricians will be familiar with the City & Guilds eVolve test interface, the 2391-50 multiple-choice test uses the same test platform. Students can take into the exam two unmarked books as reference, they are:

The multiple choice exam will include questions on the following topics:
3 questions – Understand the requirements for initial verification of electrical installations
3 questions – Understand safety management procedures when undertaking initial verification
7 questions – Understand the requirements for the initial inspection of an electrical installation
27 questions – Understand the requirements for testing electrical installations at initial verification
During the practical assignment you will need to formally inspect and test the test rig which will contain at least one fault.
On completion of the inspection you will sit down to answer four written questions.
